Understanding Whistleblowing in the Workplace

This is a two-hour online course designed to help staff and managers understand what whistleblowing is, the rights and protections available to whistleblowers under UK law, and how to handle disclosures appropriately. Learners will explore real-life case studies illustrating both good and poor organisational responses to whistleblowing, helping them recognise the importance of fostering a culture of openness and integrity.

By the end of the course, learners will understand the concept of whistleblowing, key UK legislation such as the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA), types of wrongdoing that qualify for protected disclosure, and the rights and protections available to whistleblowers. They will also learn how to report concerns through the correct channels and understand organisational responsibilities in supporting whistleblowers.

This course is CPD Certified.
